About Us
At Odyssea Adventures, we believe the ocean is more than a playground — it’s a living, breathing world worth protecting. Every dive is an opportunity not only to explore, but also to connect, to learn, and to be inspired to care for the blue planet that sustains us all.
Our story began with a single life-changing dive: a mother and son exploring shipwrecks, turtles, and sharks off Oahu. That spark grew into a lifelong calling — from coral and shark restoration projects in Bali to guiding divers through San Diego’s kelp forests — and became the foundation of Odyssea Adventures.
Today, our ethos is simple: immerse, educate, protect.
- Immerse guests in unforgettable underwater experiences that blend adventure with wonder.
- Educate divers, snorkelers and water people of all levels, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to explore safely and responsibly.
- Protect the ocean by fostering awareness, conservation-minded practices, and respect for every creature we encounter.
Outreach and education are at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s teaching a new diver to trust their breath, showing a seasoned adventurer the hidden rhythms of a kelp forest, or hosting specialty events that highlight ocean conservation, our mission is to create ocean advocates — not just ocean visitors. We want every guest to leave the water feeling both awe and responsibility, empowered to defend the sea and the life within it.
At Odyssea Adventures, diving is more than a skill. It’s a way to belong to the ocean — and to stand up for it.
Welcome to your Odyssea.

ABOUT ME
Hey, I'm Fletcher!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my journey to becoming the founder and CEO of Odyssea Adventures.
- Thousands of dives
- Master Instructor
- Passion for the ocean
There is wisdom that is gained after every dive and I couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to share my passion, knowledge, and experience diving in the world’s oceans with you. Scuba diving will give you access to witnessing worlds unknown, to coming closer to wildlife than you thought was possible and to respecting something that is much greater than oneself.
About MeOur Team
Kevin H. – PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor & Marine Biologist
Kevin — our resident science nerd turned ocean whisperer. His dive story began in Makassar, Indonesia, joining a coral restoration project and falling for marine science. What started as volunteer work planting coral fragments sparked a lifelong mission to protect underwater ecosystems.
After earning his Marine Biology degree from UC San Diego, Kevin advanced as a Lab Technician and Research Assistant at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Today, he balances lab research with diving, connecting science to the sea.
As a PADI Instructor, Kevin offers calm focus, contagious curiosity, and simplifies ocean facts into memorable moments. Dive with him to gain more than skills—you’ll leave appreciating the ecosystems we explore.
Devin H. PADI TEC 50 TRIMIX Instructor
Devin — our Navy Veteran turned ocean guardian. His story started in Florida in 2009, when the sea’s pull turned weekends into underwater adventures exploring reefs, wrecks, and springs. It evolved into a calling to teach, protect, and live beneath the waves.
Before diving full-time, Devin served in the U.S. Navy, honing leadership, precision, and adaptability—qualities now defining his ocean work and deepening his respect for marine environments.
In 2019, he moved to San Diego as a professional Divemaster, leading dives with calm confidence, blending military discipline and passion for exploration. Recently certified as a PADI Tec 50 Trimix Instructor, he takes expertise to new depths.
Dive with Devin to see the ocean as a living world deserving awe and protection. Whether navigating kelp forests or sharing Florida wreck stories, he helps others connect to the sea.

Kris H. - PADI Divemaster
Meet Kris — a Georgia native who swapped city streets for saltwater dreams. An avid traveler, outdoor enthusiast, and sailboat owner, she’s at home on hiking trails or climbing routes. Her loyal sidekick is Piper, her one-eyed adventure pup, always sniffing out fun (and snacks).
Scuba wasn’t always planned—Kris once feared it. But three years ago, she conquered that fear and fell for the ocean. Now a PADI Divemaster and travel nurse, she cares for people on land while guiding them safely underwater.
Whether leading San Diego kelp forest dives, sailing, or planning adventures, Kris brings calm spirit and a welcoming smile. Spot her and Piper on the dock—one diving, the other slobbering kisses!
Jaylan D. - PADI Assistant Open Water Instructor
Meet Jaylan — a lifelong ocean dreamer who turned fascination into vocation. What began as a “pipe dream” became a mission to explore and share the underwater world.
With a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography, a camera, PADI Divemaster certification, and determination, Jaylan has dived from La Jolla kelp forests to Isla Guadalupe’s open blue. There, he filmed breaching great white sharks, capturing their grace in a proud moment.
When not behind the lens, Jaylan guides divers with calm assurance, teaches ocean lovers, and helps students. Every dive inspires awe, captures beauty, and highlights extraordinary underwater life.

Raj J. - PADI Divemaster
Raj — hello Odyssea fam! I’m Rajpaul Jandu, a Divemaster for 6 years and excited to join Odyssea Adventures. Education and exploration are my passions, where we realize our potential. My scuba journey started in the North Atlantic’s brisk waters and quickly became my favorite activity.
I got my DM certification in La Paz, Baja in 2019, guiding off coasts in Zakynthos Greece, Baja California Sur, and San Diego. Helping people overcome doubts and expand horizons safely is a key responsibility.
In 2023, I taught outdoor enrichment at a Massachusetts elementary school, combining education with nature. After two years, the ocean’s call brought me back.
Captain Ty - USCG 25 TON Captain
Captain Ty — lifelong water lover at Odyssea. Growing up as a military kid with a Hungarian mother, his boat obsession started at age 8 in a sailing camp on Lake Balaton, Hungary. It led to windsurfing, boat building, and landsailing. At 13, he bought and sailed his first boat on Big Bear Lake.
High school in Germany broadened his culture and added a third language. In San Diego, he fixed and flipped a small catamaran, then sailed a 1964 29′ boat to Hawaii at 19. There, he earned his 25-ton Captain license and became a professional charter captain.
Since then, he’s handled vessels in sailing tours, shark diving, snorkeling, and Hawaii crossings as a delivery captain. An active American Sailing Association instructor and vessel technician, he enjoys DIY projects, hiking, surfing, windsurfing, scuba, and sailing in free time.

Captain Zach – USCG 100 TON Captain
Zach — another New England transplant with an easy grin, quick one-liners, and saltwater in his veins. Born in Sacramento and raised near Boston, he’s chased adventures like snowboarding, hiking, spearfishing, or diving into deep waters since day one.
Before San Diego eight years ago, Zach explored New England’s rugged coast, crossing paths with Captain Fletcher and getting hooked on underwater exploration—from Rhode Island’s icy waters to reefs in Maui, Puerto Rico, and Baja California.
With 15+ years in hospitality, bluefin tuna deckhand experience, and calm confidence, Zach brings humor and heart. Now Odyssea’s First Mate, he keeps divers safe and spirits high while pursuing his captain’s license and scuba certifications. Life’s better offshore—with no Wi-Fi, free jokes, and salty stories.

What they say
I was very nervous to start my open water certification especially because diving is unlike anything I’ve done before. Odyssea Adventures was very organized from the beginning and made it very simple and easy to start the process. I had different instructors who helped me with my pool dives and open water dives and each of them were fantastic!! Some of the kindest, helpful, and most knowledgeable people I have ever met! I never felt unsafe and constantly had a smile on my face. The Catalina dives were amazing and I totally recommend doing the Gold tier to get multiple opportunities to dive on Catalina. I started with the silver tier but upgraded myself after how much fun the first dive was! Fletcher, Leila, and Craig were the best and always made sure I was having fun and felt comfortable! Everyone I met on my journey was amazing so I couldn’t recommend this company enough!!
Kelly K
I did the premium package with Odyssea for my open water diver certification and HIGHLY recommend this company. I was excited to scuba dive but a bit nervous at first. By the end of the certification, I couldn't wait to jump in the water. The small class size with great instructors gave me confidence to dive and be able to really enjoy it. I went on two trips to Catalina in the certification, and seeing the kelp forests and wildlife there is one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. A bonus to the whole experience was spending time on the boat with really cool people who were interested in the same things as me. The program was also incredibly flexible around my schedule which I really appreciated. If you are a new diver in San Diego or Southern California, this is the best company around.

I’m so glad that I chose to do my Open Water certification with Odyssea Adventures! Captain Fletcher runs an amazing diving company with only the best crew. Instructors Annie and Leila were super fun, knowledgeable, and thorough all throughout my learning. I’m looking forward to going on more dives and furthering my diver education with them. Catalina next!! Thanks guys 🙂

Super fun adventure! Fletcher and his team (Alex and Chris) made it an awesome trip. Dove the Ruby E and the Yukon. Yukon is the top wreck I wanted to dive in San Diego and they made it happen. Alex was professional but not overbearing as the dive master, and Chris was the perfect dive buddy (not too close but not too far and keeping me pointed in the right direction). Definitely would dive again with Odyssea Adventures!

Diving with Odysea gives you a sense of community and allows you to meet some great people. You can feel completely safe all while having fun and joking around. I had the pleasure of having Lila as my guide for the Catalina dive trip which I 10/10 recommend. I love food and in between dives you will be impressed at the feast that the Capt puts out! She was amazing, clear, concise and made sure we knew our dive plan before each and every dive!
Jesus A
Captain Fletcher was super knowledgeable and very personable. He knew where to go to get a great view of dolphins and it was amazing - tens of thousands of dolphins as far as the eye could see! The boat was comfortable and the snacks were a nice bonus!
